Watching Them Shine

Andy is in soccer this fall. Over the past week, he has been absolutely blowing us away with how much he’s improved. He’s regained his confidence, and he’s quickly becoming a real soccer player. I am so proud of him! Before, he would stand around, fidget with his hands, and not pay much attention. Now he’s right in the middle of the action, tracking that soccer ball like a pro. It’s amazing to watch!

Evan is also playing soccer this fall (no pics yet). Honestly, I think he was one of the best players on the field during his first game. Like Andy, he stays right on the ball and gets involved in everything.

Cory, however, didn’t want to play soccer, so I enrolled him in Parent-and-Me tumbling. I took him to one class, and he didn’t like it at all—and I wasn’t thrilled with his behavior either—so we won’t be going back. On the bright side, he’s been doing wonderfully without diapers for the past week, even at school! He’s only had a couple of accidents. He’s still figuring out whether he’s happy or a little pouty about no longer wearing them, but he’s adjusting really well.

Family Portrait, September 2008

This is a true account written in my own words during the time it happened. I’ve lightly edited it for clarity in the present day (2026), with minimal exclusions, while keeping the original voice and meaning intact.

And what do you have to say about that?
