I like my America diverse, not divided.
I want an endless array of accents crackling
and time honored traditions.
Why shouldn’t you be proud of who you are
and where you’re from??

I like my America colorful and kaleidoscopic,
quilted with cultures.
Where we all sit at the same table.
Where we all dance to each other’s music.
Where we learn to say, “I’m grateful you’re here”,
in whatever language it takes for them to know it.
To feel it.

Bring your heritage, your lineage,
your ancestry, and heart.
Bring your stories, your wildest dreams,
your creativity and fiery spirit.

Everything you’re made from,
everything you’re made of – bring it.
I like my America better with all of us in it.
